Insurance Restoration Specialists exhibited at the 2016 Northeast Regional Industrial Hygiene Conference on Friday, December 1st in Princeton, NJ. The event, sponsored by NJ, PA, and NY Metro sections of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), gathers the region’s top health and safety experts to share industry trends and insights.
Tom Peter, owner of Insurance Restoration Specialists (IRS), has been attending the annual event for over 15 years. “We participate in sponsoring the conference and exhibiting every year. It’s a valuable learning experience, and keeps everyone up to date with the newest facility hygiene technologies,” says Peter. He also enjoys connecting with the other exhibitors and attendees. “It’s like a reunion of Industrial Hygienists – seeing and talking with old friends.”In previous years, IRS exhibited its full service disaster recovery and environmental services, from emergency mitigation to recovery, repair and reconstruction. This year, they focused on Infection Control, Biological Decontamination and Facility Hygiene offerings.
IRS’ Infection Control Technologies (ICT) division is the only full-service disaster recovery company having a Certified Industrial Hygienist and Certified Infection Control Specialist on staff. Tom Licker, Certified Environmental Infection Control Remediator and Certified Bio-Recovery Master and Tom Peter, Certified Industrial Hygienist, were on hand at the AIHA event.
They demonstrated ICT’s latest technology, the TOMI SteraMist™ – a complete room disinfecting system. It is EPA registered for hospital and healthcare disinfection, using ionized hydrogen peroxide solution to produce a 6-log reduction of bacteria, mold and viruses. This new technology effectively kills microbes in a short period of time and has no residual hazardous chemical.
“We see many important applications for the SteraMist™ system. The AIHA conference was an excellent opportunity to inform and educate our fellow Industrial Hygienists and Safety Professionals, as well as representatives from pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare industries about this new technology,” said Peter.
